TRAUMATIC BRAIN INURY

NATURAL CARE FOR TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURIES

Dina Khader and the team at Dina Khader Nutrition have provided dramatic health improvements to patients through a combination of her worldwide nutrition education, genomics, and supplements. Dina learned through experience that the body and the brain respond well to a comprehensive nutrition program.

Dina has participated in rigorous training programs about caring for patients who suffer from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and is a certified healthcare practitioner in the care of TBI. Dina Khader provides individualized hormonal supplementation guidance for TBI, helping her patients successfully manage their conditions, and allowing them to lead a more normal life.

WHAT IS TBI?

The brain is a fragile organ and vulnerable to a variety of injuries. While brain tissue can be damaged internally by things like tumors, blood clots, or infections, any external forces that cause injury to the brain results in an injury type we call TBI. This can cause both hormonal imbalances and neurobehavioral conditions. These injuries can be caused by explosives, bullets, car accidents, sport injuries (concussions from contact sports) or falls.

All types of injuries can lead to bruising of the brain tissues or cerebral contusions. Lacerations and nerve damage can also occur due to shearing forces on the brain tissue. Secondary types of damage such as fever, swelling, seizures, or neurological chemical imbalance can also occur, causing a hormonal deregulation. The damaged brain is unable to properly control the balance of hormones, putting the patient at risk of severe loss of emotional control.

Dina’s goal in the management of these conditions with these patients is to restore control of the hormones by constantly evaluating and monitoring the level of specific hormones. This helps the patient regain emotional control so they can have a productive life.

HORMONAL THERAPY FOR TBI

Dina Khader Nutrition’s approach to TBI involves the use of hormone therapy to make up for hormonal deficiencies that are common after a TBI. Hormone therapy can help TBI patients feel like themselves again, restoring their hormones to healthy levels. A hormone imbalance leads to neurobehavioral conditions related to a traumatic injury. Dina's protocols will help fix this hormone deficiency and produce a positive response that is noticeable for patients.

THE MILLENNIUM - TBI NETWORK

In July of 2016, Dina passed a very challenging exam to join a select group of MDs with the expertise to help patients with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injuries).

Her teacher is Dr. Mark Gordon, a specialist in dealing with individuals suffering from traumatic brain injuries and PTSD.

He wrote this testimonial for Dina in anticipation of us dealing with people with brain injuries.

“The Millennium-TBI Network is made up of healthcare professionals from all levels of the medical field.

We have Medical Doctors, Doctors of Osteopathy, Naturopathic Medical Doctors, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Chiropractors, and then we have Dina Khader MS, RD, CDN. All those letters interpret out into someone who has spent years, like a physician, learning about the body and its response to what we put into it in terms of nutrition.

One might not think that a person with these credentials would want to pursue the intricate and sometimes convoluted fields of endocrinology and neuroendocrinology, but she did.

Dina Khader attended our training program, read the book, and took the qualifying examination to become a certified healthcare practitioner in order to treat traumatic brain injury (TBI).

I am impressed with her grasp of highly technical medical material that is outside of her original nutritional training, but she wanted the knowledge, so she could provide the assessment and treatment for those suffering with Symptomatic TBI (aka PTSD).”
